Rebekah responds to breaking news of Matt Gaetz Jan. 6 involvement

Recap: Evidence filed in federal court late last night revealed Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) met with then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on December 21, 2020, as they and others conspired to steal the election from President Joe Biden.
Statement:
Throughout the last 16 months, America watched members of Congress, including Matt Gaetz, try to gaslight the American people about what happened on January 6, 2021, calling it an "average day," manufacturing vast conspiracies, and lying to the nation about their roles in the attacks.
During a January 6, 2021 press conference marking the one-year anniversary of the failed coup, Gaetz and accomplice Marjorie Taylor Greene decided not to memorialize those who lost their lives, including capitol police officers, but to promote conspiracies about secret federal agents who maliciously planned the entire day (no evidence suggests anything remotely close to this occurred).
I responded quickly.
Now, new evidence reveals the depth of Gaetz' involvement planning the attacks, including a December 21, 2020 meeting with Meadows, Greene and others, where they plotted ways to steal the election from President Joe Biden and from the American people.
Such a coordinated effort by members of Congress must not be tolerated, and I call for their immediate expulsion from Congress for aiding terrorism against the United States of America.
Gaetz and those like him not only pose a threat to our democratic institutions, but to the very foundation of a nation built on the idea that every citizen has an equal voice through their right to vote. He tried to rig and then steal an election, and encouraged violence when all other attempts failed.
Matt Gaetz' continued and varied controversies, from sex trafficking minors and drunk driving to aiding an insurrection, provide a stark contrast to the reputation I have built as someone who is fair, truthful, and will defend the people no matter the cost.
I've had a gun pointed to my head for standing my moral ground; Gaetz conspired to put a gun to America's head because they chose Joe Biden. My decision saved lives; Gaetz' got Americans killed and destroyed families.
As the presumptive Democratic nominee in Florida's First District, I want to assure everyone in my community that I will uphold the duties of our constitution while I serve in Congress. No amount of pressure - whether from lobbyists, foreign governments or my own party - will ever compromise my integrity or commitment to the American people.
